National Cancer Awareness Day was Celebrated across the country as Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan in September 2014 had already announced that 7th November will be celebrate as National Cancer Awareness Day every year in India.

Navy Auxiliary Vessel TRV-72 sank off Visakhapatnam coast
On 6th November 2014,
A Torpedo Recovery Vessel named TRV-72 of Indian Navy sank off the Visakhapatnam coast.
This sad incident happened during a naval exercise in which one sailor was killed and three others went missing.
This auxiliary ship was about 35 nautical miles south of Visakhapatnam and 28 nautical miles from the closest point of the coast.
Out of 28 personnel on board 24 were rescued by naval rescue operation.

The treaty on transfer of sentenced persons between India and Nigeria approved by Indian Cabinet
On 6th October 2014,
Union Cabinet approved the treaty on transfer of sentenced persons between India and Nigeria. This was done under the Repatriation of Prisoners Act, 2003.
This transfer will help prisoners to serve the remaining part of their sentence in their countries and also this will facilitate their social rehabilitation.

New DGP of Tamil Nadu "Ashok Kumar" A Senior IPS officer
On 3rd November 2014,
Senior IPS officer Ashok Kumar was named as new Director General of Police (DGP) of Tamil Nadu.
He will be succeeding K Ramanujam for this post.

Joint military exercise Named "Mithra Shakti" started by India and Sri Lanka
On 3rd November 2014,
The special forces of Indian and Sri Lankan armies started three-week long mock war drill at the Uva-Kudaoya Commando Regiment Training School near Colombo.
This exercise will be till 23rd November 2014 which is a part of training of counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency in the island nation.
This joint exercise has been named Mithra Shakti Exercise.
